The 2021 VRMA Connect – Colorado event took place on Tuesday June 22, 2021 at the Beaver Run Resort & Conference Center in Breckenridge, CO.
Major topics of discussion included:
- Many property managers are experiencing challenges finding and retaining staff. Nationwide labor shortages are exacerbated in many popular travel destinations caused in part by a lack of affordable housing.
- Many operational changes property managers made during the pandemic will be sticking around long term. Shifts in housekeeping, safety, and cancellation policies were prominent in the discussion.
- Building a strong community amongst short term rental professionals is vital. Banding together and focusing on sharing knowledge will help ensure the long term health of the industry as a whole.
- While most property managers present shared that they listed properties on atleast one OTA, many managers have refocused on direct booking (or direct REbooking) strategies.
- Managers were encouraged to look for ways to diversify their revenue stream in an effort to better prepare themselves and the industry for future disruptions to “business as usual”.

GuestView Guide team members Jinnie Templin and Kathry Raimer show off the booth. Suneel Goud was also present.
